Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called on foreign embassies operating in the country to cease issuing travel warnings to their citizens regarding border regions. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a government session, addressing concerns over diplomatic advisories that discourage travel to specific areas of Armenia.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing local media, Pashinyan noted that several diplomatic missions have consistently warned their citizens against visiting border zones, particularly the strategically significant Syunik province. Directly addressing Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the meeting, the head of government stated: "Mr. Mirzoyan, it is necessary to work with these embassies so that they do not continue such warnings."
The Prime Minister emphasized that international reports characterize Armenia as a safe country in terms of crime rates, asserting that statistical data for 2025 confirms this status. These travel advisories often stem from the complex security situation following the resolution of the Garabagh conflict, as Azerbaijan continues to restore its territorial integrity and establish border security protocols in the liberated territories adjacent to Armenia's Syunik region.
