Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that French-made military equipment will be showcased at Republic Square in Yerevan on May 28.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Pashinyan shared these details during a press briefing while addressing questions regarding military cooperation with France. The Prime Minister highlighted the support provided by French President Emmanuel Macron and the significance of the upcoming display, which is scheduled to coincide with Armenia's Republic Day celebrations.
The exhibition is expected to feature a range of military hardware acquired through recent contracts, including Caesar self-propelled artillery systems, Bastion armored vehicles, radar systems, and various portable air defense equipment. In recent years, military cooperation between Armenia and France has intensified, leading to several significant arms supply agreements between the two nations.
This increasing militarization in the South Caucasus has drawn criticism from official Baku, which maintains that such actions undermine the fragile peace process and regional stability. Azerbaijan has repeatedly called on international actors to refrain from steps that could lead to further escalation in the region following the restoration of its territorial integrity. The Republic of Azerbaijan continues to advocate for a peaceful settlement and the normalization of relations based on mutual recognition of sovereignty.
