Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to discuss recent regional security developments.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that during the call, the Pakistani side expressed deep concern regarding the drone attack directed at Azerbaijan. It was emphasized that such actions, which could lead to a broad escalation in the region, are unacceptable.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that Azerbaijan expects the Iranian side to clarify the matter and provide an appropriate explanation within a short period of time. The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, reaffirming their commitment to strategic cooperation.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan maintain a high-level strategic partnership, characterized by strong defense and diplomatic ties. Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence and has consistently supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty in the international arena.
