İranın yeni ali rəhbəri yaxın günlərdə seçiləcək

Iran's new supreme leader will be selected within the next one to two days, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced in an interview with Al Jazeera.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the United States and Israel should not expect a change in the political system in Iran, stating that such a goal is unattainable for them. "If their goal is to change the system, it is impossible," Araghchi stressed, adding that the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei would not assist the country's enemies in achieving their objectives.

The selection process for the Supreme Leader in Iran is traditionally overseen by the Assembly of Experts, a body of Islamic jurists tasked with appointing and supervising the country's highest-ranking official. The Supreme Leader holds ultimate authority over all major state matters in Iran, including foreign policy and the armed forces. This transition comes at a period of heightened regional tensions, where the stability of the Iranian political structure remains a focal point for international observers and neighboring states, including Azerbaijan.
