Iran has officially announced that it has no intention of launching attacks against countries within the region.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran's National Security Council, shared this statement on his official X account.
The official representative issued a stern warning, stating: "However, if the bases located in your countries are used against us, and if the United States conducts operations in the region relying on these forces, we will launch strikes against those bases."
According to Larijani, any territory hosting a White House military base is effectively considered US-owned territory in the context of potential military retaliation. This statement comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, where the presence of US military infrastructure remains a focal point of regional security debates.
The relationship between Tehran and Washington has seen increased friction following recent shifts in global administration, including the inauguration of US President Donald Trump in January 2025. Iran's National Security Council serves as the primary body for determining the country's defense and foreign policy strategies, often communicating red lines regarding foreign military presence near its borders to maintain regional deterrence.
