Officers from the 25th Police Station of the Nizami District Police Department have conducted a successful operation against the illegal drug trade.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
During the operation, 45-year-old Teymur Bagirov, suspected of acting as a drug courier in the capital, was detained. Approximately 30 kilograms of marijuana were discovered and seized from the suspect. In his statement, Bagirov admitted that he planned to distribute the narcotics to various locations throughout Baku.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. By court decision, a preventive measure of detention has been selected for T. Bagirov.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan frequently conducts such operations as part of a broader, nationwide strategy to combat drug trafficking. These efforts are critical to maintaining public safety and curbing the spread of illicit substances in the country, with law enforcement agencies consistently monitoring high-risk areas to dismantle criminal networks involved in the distribution of narcotics.
