Netanyahu: ABŞ-İran atəşkəsi Livana şamil edilməyəcək

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the temporary ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran does not apply to the territory of Lebanon.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated in a declaration released by the Israeli head of government's office several hours after US President Donald Trump announced the suspension of strikes. The statement specifically emphasized that the two-week ceasefire regime does not cover Lebanese territory.

According to the statement, Tel Aviv welcomes the decision by Washington to halt strikes against Iran for a period of two weeks, provided that Tehran immediately opens the straits and ceases attacks against the United States, Israel, and regional states. The document also notes that Israel supports the White House's efforts aimed at ensuring Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile, or terrorist threat to the United States, Israel, Iran's Arab neighbors, and the entire world.

Furthermore, Netanyahu's office emphasized that the American side informed Israel of its intention to achieve these objectives during the upcoming negotiations. This diplomatic development follows US President Donald Trump's recent initiatives to de-escalate regional tensions through direct pressure and strategic negotiations. The exclusion of Lebanon from the pause suggests that Israel intends to continue its military operations against Iranian-backed proxies, such as Hezbollah, despite the temporary cooling of direct hostilities between Washington and Tehran.
