Dmitri Medvedev: "ABŞ İrana qarşı əsl simasını göstərdi"

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has harshly criticized Washington following joint military actions by Israel and the United States against Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Medvedev claimed the nuclear negotiations conducted by the United States with Iran were merely a "curtain" to hide true intentions. The Russian official emphasized that Washington used diplomacy as a means of camouflage during the preparation phase for military operations.

"The 'peacekeeper' (US) has once again demonstrated its true colors. All discussions held with Iran are nothing more than a 'cover operation' carried out before military intervention. In fact, no one intended to reach a real agreement, and this process was a pre-planned scenario from the beginning," Medvedev stated.

This statement indicates that the already strained relations between Moscow and Washington are further escalating against the backdrop of events in the Middle East. Medvedev's remarks serve as another expression of the Kremlin's deep-seated distrust of Western diplomacy. The situation remains particularly sensitive as US President Donald Trump continues to shape American foreign policy toward Tehran, prioritizing regional security and the interests of strategic allies.

The Russian Security Council, where Medvedev serves, plays a critical role in shaping Russia's foreign policy and national security strategy. Historically, Moscow has maintained a complex relationship with Tehran, often acting as a mediator in nuclear talks while simultaneously strengthening bilateral military and economic ties. This latest rhetoric underscores the widening geopolitical divide between Russia and the West regarding regional stability in the Middle East.
