Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has publicly acknowledged the severe energy and fuel shortages currently facing the country.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that during a speech at the Ministry of Justice, Pezeshkian stated that Iran is struggling with significant deficits across several critical sectors, including energy and fuel supplies. The President emphasized that these systemic problems can only be managed through meticulous planning and active cooperation from the public.
Pezeshkian further stressed that providing false information or making unrealistic promises does not assist in resolving the current difficulties. According to the President, such an approach serves only to weaken public trust. He added that the government must maintain a policy of honesty with the society, sharing both the administration's achievements and the existing challenges transparently.
Iran has been grappling with a deepening energy crisis for several years, characterized by frequent power outages and significant imbalances in domestic fuel consumption despite its vast natural resource reserves. Industry experts often point to aging infrastructure and a lack of modern investment, exacerbated by international sanctions, as primary drivers of the shortage. President Pezeshkian, who has prioritized economic stability since taking office, faces the difficult task of balancing domestic demand with the country's limited production capacity while attempting to restore confidence in state institutions.
