Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei sustained minor injuries during recent airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Azim Ibrahimpur, a high-ranking Iranian official, confirmed the incident. According to the official statement, Mojtaba Khamenei was present at the Supreme Leader's residence during the US-Israeli aerial bombardment and suffered a slight leg injury caused by a blast wave.
Ibrahimpur emphasized that Khamenei did not sustain any life-threatening injuries and that his health condition remains stable. The official further dismissed rumors regarding more severe injuries, characterizing such reports as attempts to create internal division within Iranian society.
The incident occurs amid heightened regional tensions following a series of military operations in the Middle East. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, the United States has intensified its strategic focus on the region, coordinating closely with Israel regarding security threats. Mojtaba Khamenei recently assumed the role of Supreme Leader, a transition that has been closely monitored by international observers and regional neighbors, including Azerbaijan, which maintains a policy of regional stability and territorial integrity.
