Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva visited the Quba district on February 24 to engage with local students and inspect educational facilities.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that during the visit, they toured a general education boarding school in Quba and the regional STEAM center.
The visit began at the Quba city general-purpose boarding-type secondary school. It was reported that the educational institution currently serves a total of 114 students, including 79 boys and 35 girls. Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva familiarized themselves with the conditions created at the boarding school, held sincere conversations with the children, and observed their lesson processes. The guests presented school supplies to the students and took commemorative photos. In honor of the visit, students performed a cultural program featuring poetry recitations and songs.
Following the school visit, they proceeded to the Quba STEAM center. During the introduction to the facility, it was highlighted that the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) project has been extensively implemented in schools across Azerbaijan since 2019, following the initiative of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
The STEAM center in Quba has been operational since 2021 and is designed to serve all age groups. Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva closely examined the facilities, spoke with the students, and inquired about the practical application of the knowledge and skills they acquired at the center. The visit concluded with a group photo session with the children and the school staff.
The STEAM education model in Azerbaijan aims to encourage critical thinking and creativity among youth by integrating various scientific disciplines. Under the leadership of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, the project has expanded to numerous regions, ensuring that students in the capital and regional districts like Quba have access to modern technological resources and innovative learning environments.
