A social-emotional learning program is being implemented in social service institutions for children in Azerbaijan at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the program, carried out through a partnership between the IDEA Public Union, ADA University, and the Social Services Agency, supports the development of social and emotional skills among children living in social service facilities. The implementation of the program began last month and is currently proceeding successfully.

As part of the initiative, weekly training sessions are organized for children residing in social service institutions No. 1, 2, and 3, with more than 100 children participating. The trainings focus specifically on developing communication, self-expression, emotion management, teamwork, and mutual cooperation skills. The sessions are conducted by students of ADA University, while the university's faculty provides regular methodical support and guidance on content and approaches to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the process.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the largest non-governmental organization in Azerbaijan, frequently spearheads social and educational initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and fostering youth development. This specific program aligns with Azerbaijan's national strategy to enhance social welfare and ensure the successful integration of children from social service institutions into the community. By fostering emotional intelligence and soft skills, the initiative seeks to provide these youth with the necessary tools for personal and professional growth, ultimately strengthening their self-confidence and active participation in society.
