China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are preparing to conduct joint aviation exercises as part of their expanding military cooperation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Chinese Ministry of Defense announced that the drills, titled "Falcon Shield-2026," are scheduled to take place from the second half of August through mid-September.

The exercises will be hosted in Hotan County, located in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The program includes intensive flight training and the execution of various tactical missions by the air forces of both nations.

Official statements indicate that these maneuvers are designed to deepen practical military cooperation between Beijing and Abu Dhabi. The primary objectives of the exercises are to enhance the technical and tactical proficiency of the participating units and to strengthen interoperability between the two nations' air forces.

Joint military exercises between China and Middle Eastern nations have become increasingly significant in recent years as Beijing seeks to expand its strategic partnerships and influence in the region, while the UAE continues to diversify its defense alliances and training capabilities.
