Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, has called on the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan to support the strengthening of Garabagh University's international relations.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Hajiyev made these remarks while addressing diplomatic representatives at the university's campus in Khankendi. "I would also call on the diplomatic community to help establish direct links between this university and similar educational institutions in your countries, thereby uniting young people for knowledge exchange, education development and, most importantly, peace," he stated. Hajiyev emphasized that the current peace phase in the region is of particular importance, noting that the international diplomatic community should focus efforts on the peace agenda.
Garabagh University was established by a decree from President Ilham Aliyev to serve as a cornerstone for academic excellence and regional development. Located in the city of Khankendi, the institution is part of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to revitalize the liberated territories through education and innovation. The university aims to foster a new generation of professionals while serving as a platform for international academic exchange and cultural dialogue in the South Caucasus, contributing to the long-term stability and socio-economic growth of the region.
