Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, has met with media representatives covering the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Cairo.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Hajiyev highlighted the operational and diligent work of the journalists throughout the forum.

He expressed his appreciation for the intense work schedule of media personnel, who worked from early morning until late at night to deliver timely reports. "It was a very difficult and laborious job. You were active from early morning until evening every day. You continued to work within the city, presenting reports promptly. We were reading and anticipating all of them," Hajiyev noted.

In addition to the journalists, Hikmat Hajiyev acknowledged the efforts of the camera operators and photographers working behind the scenes, extending his gratitude to them. The Assistant to the President also welcomed the emergence of new faces in the media landscape, viewing the rejuvenation of the sector as a positive development: "I would like to take this opportunity to once again express my gratitude to each of you, to all media heads and colleagues. It is gratifying that our media is becoming increasingly younger and that new faces are joining the field."

The World Urban Forum, convened by UN-Habitat, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. It serves as a platform for governments, urban planners, and civil society to discuss the challenges of rapid urbanization and its impact on cities, communities, and economies. Azerbaijan's active participation and media engagement at such international platforms underscore the country's commitment to global urban development agendas.
