Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to visit Davos, Switzerland, on January 22 to participate in the signing ceremony of the Peace Council charter regarding the Gaza Strip.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the minister will sign the document on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish leader previously emphasized that Fidan would represent the country in this prestigious international body, highlighting the importance Turkey attaches to the peace process.
US President Donald Trump recently announced that he would lead the Peace Council, stating that the structure will comprise leaders from the world's most influential and respected nations. The White House head noted that the council's primary objective is to create a sustainable framework for stability and security in conflict-affected regions.
The World Economic Forum in Davos serves as a premier global platform where political, business, and civil society leaders gather to address the most pressing international challenges. The establishment of the Peace Council under the leadership of US President Donald Trump marks a significant diplomatic initiative aimed at resolving the humanitarian and political crisis in the Gaza Strip. This move is expected to facilitate high-level dialogue and foster multilateral cooperation among key global powers to ensure long-term peace in the Middle East.
