ABŞ Avropanı niyə bölmək istəyir? - Kallasdan sərt açıqlama

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has accused the US administration of attempting to create divisions within Europe, highlighting a significant shift in transatlantic relations.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Kallas made these remarks during an interview with the Financial Times. She expressed concern over Washington's current approach toward the bloc, suggesting a lack of support for European integration.

“I think it is important for everyone to understand that the US has made it very clear they want to divide Europe. They do not like the European Union,” Kallas stated. The EU official further noted that Washington's current tactics bear a resemblance to those used by "our enemies," emphasizing that the relationship between the United States and the European Union has entered a "very complex" phase.

Kallas pointed out that this strategic shift is reflected in the US National Security and Defense Strategies published in December and January. These documents, released under the administration of US President Donald Trump, include calls for "developing resistance" in Europe and "calibrating" US military support on the continent. According to Kallas, the 27 EU member states are currently experiencing internal disagreements regarding how to manage future relations with Washington.

The EU foreign policy chief concluded by noting that while the situation is challenging, there remains a short-term opportunity to both satisfy Washington's demands and simultaneously reduce Europe's strategic dependence on the United States. This development comes at a critical time for the transatlantic alliance, as US President Donald Trump continues to emphasize an "America First" approach to international security and trade, prompting European leaders to reconsider their long-standing reliance on American military and economic guarantees.
