A total of 615 people have been evacuated from Iran through the borders of Azerbaijan following the commencement of military operations by the United States and Israel on February 28.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Report, informs that 157 citizens of Azerbaijan crossed the border between February 28 and 10:00 AM on March 3.
In addition to Azerbaijani nationals, the evacuation included 150 citizens from China, 127 from Russia, 66 from Pakistan, 52 from Tajikistan, 18 from Saudi Arabia, 7 from Georgia, 6 from the United Arab Emirates, 5 from Serbia, 4 from Jordan, 3 from Qatar, 3 from Bangladesh, 2 from the Philippines, 2 from Nepal, 2 from Kazakhstan, and 2 from France. Furthermore, one citizen each from Turkiye, Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, and Brazil was evacuated from Iran via Azerbaijan's border infrastructure.
The evacuation process is being coordinated amid heightened regional tensions following the military actions initiated under the administration of US President Donald Trump. Azerbaijan, utilizing its strategic geographical position and stable border infrastructure, continues to serve as a vital transit corridor for international humanitarian efforts and the safe passage of foreign nationals during regional crises. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant border authorities in Azerbaijan are monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and orderly processing of all individuals entering the country.
