The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has officially announced that it conducted strikes against key infrastructure facilities located in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Israeli military's press service, the operation targeted several high-priority sites within the Islamic Republic.

Official reports indicate that the strikes, carried out on April 3, specifically targeted the air defense facilities of the Iranian Armed Forces. Notably, a strategic air defense site belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which housed missiles designed to intercept aircraft, was destroyed. Furthermore, the Israeli military struck a specialized military facility responsible for the protection of Iran's research and development (R&D) projects.

"In parallel, the Israel Defense Forces struck a facility where ballistic missiles were stored, as well as other production, research, and experimental design facilities for warfare equipment," the official statement emphasized.

This escalation follows a period of heightened regional tensions and represents a significant direct engagement between the two regional powers. Such military actions often lead to increased diplomatic activity and calls for restraint from the international community to prevent a wider conflict in the Middle East. The targeting of IRGC infrastructure is particularly significant given the organization's central role in Iran's military and political structure.
