Employees of the Ismayilli District Police Department have conducted successful operations targeting individuals involved in the illegal trafficking and cultivation of narcotic substances.
According to the Sheki regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service, as reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM, 44-year-old Rashad Mazanov, who had previously been convicted for similar offenses, was apprehended. Authorities discovered 10 kilograms of marijuana in his possession. Investigations revealed that the suspect had concealed the narcotics in a forested area with the intent to sell them.
In a separate operation, 36-year-old Pasha Usubov was detained for the cultivation of drug-containing plants. Law enforcement officials discovered 31 cannabis plants being cultivated at his residence.
Criminal cases have been initiated regarding these incidents, and a court-ordered preventive measure of arrest has been imposed on both individuals.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan frequently conducts such operations across the country to combat drug-related crimes. These efforts are part of a broader national strategy to ensure public safety and curb the illicit drug trade, which remains a priority for law enforcement agencies tasked with maintaining order in the Republic.
