Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Tuesday for an official visit. The trip serves as a preparatory mission ahead of the planned one-day official visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

Araghchi's arrival in Islamabad is intended to facilitate high-level discussions and address key items on the bilateral agenda. According to reports from the official Iranian news agency IRNA, the sides are currently working on finalizing documents expected to be signed during the presidential visit, as well as coordinating positions on pressing regional issues.

During his meetings, the Iranian Foreign Minister is expected to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation, the expansion of economic ties, and an exchange of views on regional processes. Such diplomatic exchanges are critical for Iran and Pakistan, which share a long border and maintain complex political and economic relations, often focusing on security cooperation and regional stability in South Asia.

The visit underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Islamabad to strengthen ties amidst a rapidly evolving regional geopolitical landscape. Both nations have frequently emphasized the importance of enhancing trade and security collaboration to address shared challenges.
