General Sardar Rezaei of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence has been killed as a result of joint strikes conducted by the United States and Israel. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Tasnim news agency released the information regarding the high-level casualties.

According to official reports, the list of high-ranking officials killed during the operations in Iran includes the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces, Major General Mohammad Pakpour, and Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the Supreme Leader. The list further includes Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh. Authorities noted that the names of other deceased individuals will be disclosed to the public in due course.

The military escalation began on February 28, when the United States, under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, and Israel launched a large-scale military operation involving airstrikes against various cities across the Islamic Republic. In response, Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes toward Israel and targeted fourteen US military bases located in the Persian Gulf region. Due to the volatile security situation in the Middle East, several regional countries have temporarily closed their airspace to civilian aviation.

This unprecedented escalation marks a significant turning point in regional geopolitics, following years of heightened tensions over Iran's nuclear program and its influence across the Middle East. The targeting of top-tier leadership represents a major shift in the conflict's intensity, prompting international observers to call for restraint to prevent a wider regional war. Azerbaijan, sharing a border with Iran, continues to monitor the situation closely, maintaining its commitment to regional stability and security.
