The head of Iran's Legal Medicine Organization, Abbas Masjedi, has announced that the number of people killed as a result of the ongoing conflict in the country has exceeded 3,000.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Masjedi shared further distressing statistics regarding the scale of the casualties.
"The bodies of 40% of the deceased are so severely damaged that identification is impossible without forensic examination," Masjedi stated, highlighting the devastating impact of the hostilities.
Experts suggest that these figures are based solely on official records, and there is a high probability that the actual number of losses could be significantly higher. The difficulty in identifying remains has placed an immense strain on forensic departments and humanitarian efforts in the region.
The scale of the humanitarian crisis underscores the intensity of the military operations and the resulting destruction. International observers continue to monitor the situation as the conflict leads to rising civilian and military tolls, complicating recovery and documentation processes in affected areas.
