Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of direct involvement in recent military actions carried out by Israel and the United States against Tehran.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the minister urged the UAE to reconsider its current regional policy regarding the Islamic Republic. Araghchi claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a secret visit to Abu Dhabi during the conflict to coordinate military efforts.
"It became clear yesterday that Netanyahu visited the UAE and Abu Dhabi during the war. It has also been revealed that they participated in these attacks and even acted directly against us. Therefore, the UAE is an active participant in this aggression, and there is no doubt about it," Araghchi stated.
The Iranian Foreign Minister further noted that the UAE's alliance with Israel has failed to provide the security the Emirates expected during the regional conflict. He emphasized that Abu Dhabi must fundamentally re-evaluate its foreign policy to avoid further escalation with Tehran.
Relations between Iran and the UAE have been characterized by a complex mix of economic cooperation and deep-seated geopolitical rivalry. While the two nations maintain significant trade ties, the UAE's normalization of relations with Israel through the Abraham Accords in 2020 has been a major point of contention for Tehran. This latest accusation follows a series of escalations in the Middle East, where Iran has frequently criticized regional neighbors for providing logistical or intelligence support to Western and Israeli operations. The situation remains tense as Azerbaijan and other regional actors monitor the potential for further diplomatic or military fallout in the Persian Gulf.
