The Iranian leadership has announced that it will interpret any military action directed against the country as a declaration of full-scale war.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that a high-ranking Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, provided this information to international media representatives.

The official stated that Tehran's reaction would be decisive, regardless of the nature of the potential attack:

"This time, we will evaluate any attack as a large-scale war directed against us and we will respond in the harshest possible form."

The representative further emphasized that Tehran's current military and strategic position is more favorable compared to previous periods. This statement comes amid heightened regional tensions and increased military posturing in the Middle East.

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump previously stated that US warships were moving toward Iran as a precautionary measure. When addressing questions regarding whether the military intervention option remains on the table, Washington noted that it is difficult to predict future developments.

The internal situation in Iran intensified at the end of December last year due to a sharp devaluation of the national currency. Protests that began with economic demands later escalated into political unrest, accompanied by internet shutdowns and loss of life. Official Tehran has accused the United States and Israel of organizing the unrest, declaring on January 12 that the situation had been brought under full control.

The relationship between Washington and Tehran has remained strained for decades, characterized by economic sanctions and geopolitical rivalry. The current escalation follows a pattern of "maximum pressure" and retaliatory rhetoric that has frequently brought the two nations to the brink of direct confrontation in the Persian Gulf and surrounding territories.
