Iran has reportedly launched missile strikes against a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility in Qatar, marking a significant escalation in regional hostilities.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Associated Press, that the strike targeted critical energy infrastructure near Doha.

According to reports, the attack resulted in large-scale fires and caused substantial structural damage to the facility. Qatar's state-owned petroleum and gas company, QatarEnergy, stated that efforts to extinguish the blaze are ongoing and confirmed that no casualties have been reported thus far. The strike follows a period of heightened military activity in the region involving Iranian retaliatory measures against US and Israeli operations.

In response to the security threat, Qatar has suspended natural gas production at the affected site. Industry analysts warn that the extent of the damage could delay global gas supplies long after the immediate conflict subsides. Qatar is one of the world's largest exporters of LNG, and any prolonged disruption to its production capacity is expected to cause volatility in international energy prices and supply chains, particularly for European and Asian markets reliant on Gulf energy exports.
