The Strait of Hormuz remains open for the passage of merchant vessels, although technical restrictions may be implemented due to the presence of mines and security concerns.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh made these remarks during an interview with NTV television on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Khatibzadeh emphasized that while the waterway is not under blockade, certain safety measures are necessary in the post-ceasefire period. "There is no uncertainty for us in this matter. I cannot speak for the other side, as their policy may be designed to confuse everyone. The Strait of Hormuz is open for merchant ships, but technical limitations may arise due to mines and security issues," he stated.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most vital maritime chokepoints, through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes daily. Connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, its stability is crucial for global energy security. The comments follow earlier statements from Ibrahim Zulfiqari, a spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, who indicated that the Iranian Armed Forces had restored military control over the strategic passage.
