Tehran will restrict the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz to no more than 15 ships per day as part of a ceasefire agreement.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that a high-ranking Iranian source disclosed this information to TASS ahead of upcoming negotiations scheduled to take place in Islamabad.

According to the source, under the terms of the current ceasefire, the transit of more than 15 vessels daily through the strategic waterway is prohibited. The source emphasized that maritime movement is now strictly dependent on Iranian consent and adherence to a specific protocol. This new legal framework, operating under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has already been communicated to relevant parties in the region. The official further noted that a return to the pre-war status quo would not be possible.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most vital maritime chokepoints, situated between Oman and Iran. It connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, serving as the primary route for approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption. Given its strategic importance to global energy security, any restrictions on transit through the strait typically have significant implications for international oil prices and global trade stability.
