Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has addressed the potential deployment of US troops to Kharg Island, emphasizing Tehran's readiness to respond to any perceived threats. Khatibzadeh characterized the movement of troops from one country to another as an "unthinking step" that contradicts all principles of international law. "In such a situation, Iran will defend itself," the Deputy Foreign Minister stated, adding that the current focus remains firmly on safeguarding national sovereignty. He further noted that those who initiate aggression must be the ones to decide on ending hostilities, asserting that Iran is prepared to maintain its defense for as long as required.
