Iran cancels all flights to the United Arab Emirates

All flights operated by Iranian airlines to the United Arab Emirates have been cancelled since midnight, according to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), which cited a spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.

The spokesman said a Tehran-Dushanbe flight was forced to return to Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran after Turkmenistan did not grant permission for Iranian airlines to use its airspace.

The aircraft was unable to land at its destination because the required overflight authorization had not been issued, ISNA reported.
