Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched by Iran have targeted the facilities of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries company in Bahrain.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was disclosed in a statement by the corporation, as cited by the Bahrain News Agency.
"Several production units were subjected to an attack by Iranian drones, which resulted in a fire. The blaze has been brought fully under control and extinguished; no casualties have been reported," the company stated. Specialists are currently conducting an assessment of the material damage caused by the strike.
The incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions within the Persian Gulf, a critical corridor for global energy supplies. Bahrain, which hosts the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet, has frequently raised concerns regarding maritime and aerial security in the region.
