President Ilham Aliyev is a valuable friend of Georgia, and the visit of the President of Azerbaijan is always a great honor for us, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a joint press statement with the Azerbaijani leader.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of high-level dialogue between the two neighboring nations. "We took the opportunity to discuss our bilateral relations and the ongoing processes in the region," Kobakhidze noted, highlighting the strategic nature of the partnership between Tbilisi and Baku.
Azerbaijan and Georgia maintain a deep-rooted strategic partnership characterized by large-scale regional energy and transport projects, including the Southern Gas Corridor and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. These initiatives not only strengthen bilateral ties but also play a critical role in the energy security of Europe. Regular high-level meetings between the leadership of Azerbaijan and Georgia serve to further consolidate cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres within the South Caucasus region.
