US aircraft damaged in strikes on Jordan airbase

Several US military aircraft were reportedly damaged in Iranian strikes on Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base overnight.

According to US media reports citing CBS, one of the wings of an A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft was torn off during the assault. About eight F-15 fighter jets reportedly sustained minor damage and were returned to service.

CBS News chief White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs shared the information on the “X” platform, citing anonymous sources.

As reports of the strikes emerged, Iranian media reported hearing explosions in several areas in the country’s south. The areas mentioned included Sirik, Minab County and Qeshm Island.

The reports came amid the ongoing confrontation in the Middle East.

Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, located in Jordan, is used by the United States as part of its military operations and regional air activities. Reports of damage to aircraft could not be independently verified.
