Moldova's prominent news portal, Noi.md, has published an extensive article regarding the official opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the article provides detailed coverage of the opening ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, emphasizing the global significance of WUF13. The publication features key excerpts from the Azerbaijani President's keynote address.

Special attention was given to President Ilham Aliyev's insights on Azerbaijan's rapid urban development, the modernization of cities such as Baku, Ganja, and Shamakhi, and the large-scale restoration of Garabagh and East Zangezur. The article also highlighted the strategic importance of the "Great Return" program, which facilitates the resettlement of formerly displaced persons to their ancestral lands.

Citing the head of state, the Moldovan media noted that the forum has seen a record number of participants, with over 45,000 individuals registered from 182 countries. This makes WUF13 the second-largest international event hosted in Azerbaijan following the COP29 summit held 18 months ago. The reports underscored Azerbaijan's unique geographical position between Europe and Asia, serving as a historical bridge where East meets West.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to solidify its role as a major hub for international diplomacy and a leader in implementing innovative urban solutions. The forum serves as a platform for world leaders, experts, and civil society to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and promote sustainable development goals on a global scale.
