On June 25, President Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The leaders also exchanged views on the priority directions of bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the multifaceted ties between the two nations.
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan share deep historical, cultural, and linguistic roots, which form the foundation of their strategic partnership. In recent years, the two countries have significantly expanded their cooperation, particularly in the energy and transport sectors, playing a crucial role in regional connectivity projects like the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
