President Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the congratulatory message reads:
"On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of the Philippines – Independence Day, I extend my most sincere congratulations to you and, through you, to all your people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan. I believe that we will continue our joint efforts to develop and expand the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and the Philippines in line with the interests of our peoples. On this pleasant day, I wish you robust health and happiness, and the friendly people of the Philippines peace and prosperity."
The Philippines celebrates its Independence Day on June 12, commemorating the declaration of independence from Spanish colonial rule in 1898. Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Philippines, established in 1992, have historically focused on mutual respect and exploring avenues for cooperation in various sectors, including trade and international diplomacy.
