İlham Əliyev: Cəbrayılın Şükürbəyli kəndinin ikinci mərhələsi də nəzərdə tutulur

A second phase of development is planned for the Shukurbayli village in the Jabrayil district to accommodate the growing number of returning residents. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made this announcement during a meeting with residents who recently relocated to Shukurbayli on May 9.

The head of state noted that several thousand people are already residing across the Jabrayil district, including the city center, Horovlu village, and Jojug Marjanli. "The largest number of people will live here; currently, there are 635 houses. However, according to the information provided to me, the number of those who want to move and return is higher, exceeding 900 families. Therefore, we are planning the second phase of the village's construction," President Ilham Aliyev stated.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the official opening of Shukurbayli, where a total of 2,522 people (615 families) from the villages of Shikhaliaghali, Dejal, and the settlement of Mahmudlu are scheduled for resettlement. In the initial stage, 635 private houses—ranging from two to five rooms—have been commissioned, with 615 designated for residents and 20 for service use. This project is a key component of the "Great Return" program, Azerbaijan's comprehensive state strategy to reconstruct infrastructure and restore permanent settlement in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangezur.
