Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, currently on an official visit to Ukraine, has reviewed archival documents at the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that detail the diplomatic activities of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) in the country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan shared details of the visit on its official "X" (formerly Twitter) account.

It was reported that the minister was presented with archival materials documenting the operations of the ADR's diplomatic mission (commissariat) in Ukraine between 1918 and 1920, as well as records highlighting the early diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine during that era.

The materials showcased to the minister included significant historical documents, official correspondence, and detailed reports concerning Azerbaijan and the Caucasus region prepared during that period.

The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, established in 1918, was the first secular parliamentary republic in the Muslim world. Its diplomatic efforts during its short existence were crucial in establishing Azerbaijan's international presence and fostering early ties with various nations, including Ukraine, which also experienced a period of independence during the same historical timeframe.
