Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with a delegation led by Caleb Orr, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported that the discussions covered the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-US relations, with a specific focus on economy, energy security, transport-communication links, investments, and trade, as well as matters of mutual interest on the regional agenda.
The parties emphasized the importance of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in accordance with the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between Azerbaijan and the US. It was noted that the upcoming inaugural session of the Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue holds particular significance for the development of bilateral ties.
During the meeting, the long-term cooperation in the energy sector was highlighted, particularly Azerbaijan's contribution to regional and European energy security. Prospects for collaboration in renewable energy, the green transition, innovation, and high technologies were also reviewed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the delegation on Azerbaijan's favorable investment climate and the initiatives undertaken to develop regional connectivity projects and international transport corridors. The growing importance of the Middle Corridor and its contribution to regional economic integration were underscored.
The discussions also addressed the current situation in the region following the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit last August. Significant progress, the opening of communication lines, and the implementation of the TRIPP project were key topics of the dialogue.
The parties concluded the meeting by exchanging views on other issues of mutual interest.
