Finnish President Alexander Stubb has issued positive remarks regarding relations and cooperation with Ankara during his visit to Türkiye.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Stubb shared a photograph on his official account on the X social network alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasizing the significance of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The Finnish leader stated that Türkiye is a vital partner for his country in both security and economic spheres. He noted that the cooperation between the two states contributes to the formation of a more secure Europe.
Alexander Stubb also drew attention to the diplomatic initiatives undertaken by Türkiye toward resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Ankara's readiness to host negotiations for a sustainable and just peace represents a significant step forward.
Finland, which officially joined NATO in April 2023, has significantly deepened its defense and diplomatic ties with Türkiye, a key NATO member. This alignment reflects a broader shift in Nordic security policy, where Ankara's role as a mediator in regional conflicts, particularly in Ukraine, has become increasingly central to European stability efforts.
