Ərdoğan: Türkiyə ABŞ ilə İran arasında atəşkəsin uzadılması üçün təkliflər verir

Turkey is actively putting forward proposals and initiatives to extend the current ceasefire established amid the conflict between the United States and Iran. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a speech at the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

The Turkish leader noted that the recent US-Iran negotiations hosted by Pakistan did not yield the expected results, leading to further escalations in the Strait of Hormuz. President Erdogan emphasized that the global system established by the victors of World War II is currently collapsing, necessitating new diplomatic approaches to ensure regional stability.

The conflict intensified on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, resulting in the deaths of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials. On the 40th day of operations, a two-week ceasefire was brokered by Pakistan; however, subsequent meetings held in Islamabad on April 11-12 failed to reach a consensus on long-term terms. Turkey, as a key regional power and NATO member, continues to position itself as a mediator to prevent further destabilization of the Middle East and vital energy corridors like the Strait of Hormuz.
