Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has identified the primary reason for the failure of negotiations and the subsequent increase in military tensions between the United States and Iran.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state directly pointed to Israel's actions as the core driver of the current crisis.
President Erdogan stated that it has been impossible to restore the breakdown of trust between the parties. According to him, Israel's continuous attempts to disrupt the peace process have prevented the achievement of expected diplomatic results.
“Turkey and other countries in the region have made every possible effort to normalize the situation. Diplomatic steps must be accelerated to bring the parties back to the negotiating table. The military operations carried out by the US and Israel against Iran do not serve peace in the region and are a cause for disappointment.”
It should be noted that the Turkish President has previously emphasized the importance of reducing regional tensions while also condemning Iranian strikes against Persian Gulf countries. These developments come at a critical juncture as US President Donald Trump continues to shape American foreign policy in the Middle East, focusing on regional security and strategic alliances.
Turkey, as a key NATO member and a major regional power, has frequently acted as a mediator in Middle Eastern conflicts. The relationship between Washington and Tehran has remained a focal point of global geopolitics, impacting energy markets and regional stability. President Erdogan's remarks reflect Ankara's ongoing concern regarding the potential for a wider regional conflict that could affect neighboring states and international security interests.
