US Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to visit Armenia on February 9, followed by an official visit to Azerbaijan on February 10.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media reports, a preparatory delegation from the United States has already arrived in the region to coordinate the logistics of the visit. The delegation is expected to remain in Armenia for approximately two weeks to finalize the details of the high-level meetings.
The regional tour comes after the Vice President's attendance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. This visit underscores the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the administration of US President Donald Trump and the South Caucasus nations. Such high-level visits are traditionally aimed at discussing bilateral relations, regional security, and economic cooperation. For Azerbaijan, these discussions often focus on energy security and the normalization process in the Garabagh region, reflecting the country's strategic importance as a key partner in the Caspian region.
