Eleven individuals, including ten ethnic Armenians and one Russian citizen residing in Azerbaijan's Garabagh region, have relocated to Armenia. The transfer took place following formal requests submitted by the individuals to the relevant authorities of both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the residents expressed their desire to move voluntarily. Following the processing of these applications, the individuals were safely handed over to the Armenian side. These residents had chosen to remain in the region following the restoration of Azerbaijan's control over the area and the liberation of Khankendi in September 2023.
Since the full restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty over its territories, the government in Baku has repeatedly stated its commitment to the reintegration of ethnic Armenian residents. This process is designed to ensure the civil, economic, and social rights of all residents under the framework of the Constitution of Azerbaijan. While the reintegration portal remains open for those wishing to obtain Azerbaijani citizenship, the authorities continue to facilitate the voluntary and organized departure of individuals who choose to relocate to Armenia, ensuring all movements are conducted in a transparent and safe manner.
