A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck the northwestern region of China, according to reports from the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Xinhua news agency.

The China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported that the seismic activity occurred in the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai province. The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers.

At this time, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or structural damage resulting from the tremor. China is located in a seismically active region, frequently experiencing earthquakes due to the complex tectonic interactions between the Eurasian and Indian plates, which often necessitates rigorous monitoring by the China Earthquake Networks Center to ensure public safety and rapid emergency response.
