China has urged all parties involved in the conflict in Iran to declare an immediate ceasefire and initiate peace negotiations as soon as possible.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made these remarks during a press briefing on April 2. The spokesperson emphasized the necessity of de-escalation to prevent further instability in the region.

Mao Ning noted: "Military means cannot solve fundamental problems. The prolongation of fighting and the intensification of the conflict do not serve the interests of any party." She further added that "military operations must end immediately, peace talks should begin soon, and a larger humanitarian disaster must be prevented."

This call for restraint follows recent statements from US President Donald Trump, who announced intentions to conduct powerful strikes against targets in Iran within the next two to three weeks. The escalating rhetoric between Washington and Tehran has raised international concerns regarding regional security and global energy markets.

China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a major economic partner in the Middle East, consistently advocates for diplomatic solutions to international disputes. Beijing has historically maintained significant energy ties with Iran and views stability in the Persian Gulf as vital to its Belt and Road Initiative and global economic interests.
