A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, has categorically denied reports alleging that Russian military personnel are undergoing training on Chinese territory, labeling the claims as slanderous and baseless.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the statement follows recent international media reports suggesting such military cooperation. During a press briefing, Mao Ning addressed a question from a Western journalist regarding allegations made by the German Foreign Ministry and a subsequent meeting between German officials and the Chinese ambassador.
"The claims you mentioned have no factual basis. They are entirely slanderous and defamatory," Mao Ning emphasized. She confirmed that representatives from the German Foreign Ministry did recently meet with the Chinese ambassador to Germany, but stated that the discussion focused on bilateral relations and other matters of mutual interest rather than the alleged military training.
The spokesperson reiterated that China maintains a balanced position regarding the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and consistently advocates for a political resolution. She urged Germany to view China's principled stance on the issue in an objective and rational manner.
The Ukraine crisis has remained a focal point of international diplomacy, with various global powers closely monitoring the involvement of third-party nations. China has frequently emphasized its commitment to neutrality and diplomatic mediation, often rejecting Western accusations of providing military support to Russia.
