Jeyhun Bayramov discusses bilateral ties with South Korea

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, Cho Tae-yul, to discuss the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in a statement to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministers emphasized the significance of Korean companies' participation in various projects implemented in Azerbaijan. They noted the existence of broad opportunities for further developing economic cooperation. The Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Korea was highlighted as playing a crucial role in advancing these relations.

The ministers also stressed the importance of intensifying the consultation mechanism between the respective foreign ministries and increasing the frequency of mutual visits. During the call, the Korean side expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea, established in 1992, have grown steadily, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, and high-tech sectors. South Korea remains a key partner for Azerbaijan in East Asia, contributing to the diversification of the national economy through technological expertise and investment.
