Approximately $24 billion of Iran's frozen assets could be released under a new agreement.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, foreign media outlets reported that the release of these funds will be part of a memorandum of understanding aimed at securing a broader peace agreement between Tehran and Washington.

The reports indicate that the Islamic Republic seeks to access half of the specified amount immediately after the memorandum is signed, while the remaining portion is expected to be available over the subsequent 60 days.

The issue of frozen Iranian assets has long been a major point of contention in relations between Tehran and Washington. These funds, largely held in foreign banks due to international sanctions, have been the subject of periodic negotiations. The potential release of these multi-billion-dollar assets comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional security and economic stability under the administration of US President Donald Trump.
