Bu il ixtisas seçimi qaydalarında yeniliklər tətbiq olunacaq

New regulations regarding the selection of university specialties will be implemented this year in Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Maleyka Abbaszade, Chair of the State Examination Center (SEC), announced these changes during a press briefing.

"One of the key updates involves the expansion of the list of specialties available for students scoring 150 points in the first specialty group. Last year, there were 11 such specialties, with seven related to agriculture and four to the RK subgroup. This year, the list is being expanded to include two additional specialties within the Mathematics-Informatics (RI) subgroup: computer engineering and information technology. Consequently, applicants scoring between 150 and 200 points in the RI subgroup will now be eligible to select these programs," Abbaszade stated.

Changes have also been introduced for the second specialty group, where approximately seven new specialties have been added to the list eligible for selection with a 150-point threshold. A detailed table of these specialties will be provided separately. These adjustments significantly broaden the selection options for applicants scoring in the 150–200 point range across the first and second specialty groups.

The SEC Chair noted that no changes have been made to the third and fourth specialty groups, where the previous year's criteria remain in effect. These updates are part of the ongoing efforts by the State Examination Center to modernize the higher education admission system in Azerbaijan, ensuring that students have broader academic pathways based on their examination performance.
